As of now, roughly 5% of the world’s population is estimated to have what is known as Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD. Basically it’s the ‘new’ fad in the medical world next to people who fake symptoms to get attention from a doctor. The percentages has gone as far up as 10% of all the males in the United States. Now if this were true, and the title of today’s article should be an indicator of how I feel about said subject I dare say that it would make ADHD more common than the common cold.
Now as you may know, ADHD is most commonly diagnosed in children. As you might also know, the symptoms of ADHD can basically be described as ‘my child is very busy and doesn’t listen to me at all’. Well no shit Sherlock, that’s because he hasn’t reached the fine goddamn reasoning age of 10 yet. If one quickly scans the symptoms list (in fairness, this list is modified from the one doctors use, but still, my point is valid), it does not take today’s Einstein to figure out that they are not exactly the most precise of descriptions for well, anything really. Which brings me to another important point; just because someone has a doctor’s degree in medicine it is generally inadvisable to rely on his/her opinion only to stuff your children full of drugs. If one thinks in more detail about the drugs and apparent prevalence of the syndrome one may ask himself: “If ADHD is in fact a real disorder that is apparently so dangerous to many individuals, how the hell did people cope with it 100 years ago?”.
The answer to that is surprisingly simple; Discipline with a capital D. Did you know what happened when little boys and girls caused trouble in school 40 years ago? A simple single slap on the wrist with a goddamn ruler is what happened. Or how about a 12 year old dipshit from the Dark Ages that couldn’t focus enough to learn his father’s trade as a blacksmith? That’s right, it is surprising how fast attention can be regained with a quick slap to the head. Truly if ADHD were that much of a problem, why aren’t there any old people with ADHD alive today?
While I believe my point has been made, allow me to continue; ADHD is a farce that is only allowed to exist because it helps shitty parents feel that their hyperactive kid isn’t their fault and they can shove him full of ‘medicine’, high-five themselves and masturbate in the shower together. Note that I’m not saying it is a conspiracy propagated by the drug-manufacturers because that is simply not how humans work. These companies solely exist because bad mothers allow them to.
Enough ADHD-bashing, the article is titled ‘and others’ and I will provide others. Before we start, it must be told that I used ‘diseases’ in the title because it sounds better than ‘diseases and syndromes’, I do however, mean both.
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
Now this is more a semantic point, but an important one. RSI is nothing more than ‘my arm hurts because I’ve been using it nonstop for 5 months even though it started to hurt after 2 months’. Now I say; THERE IS NO REASON FOR THERE TO BE AN ACTUAL NAME [RSI] FOR THIS. Furthermore if people are actually stupid enough to ‘inflict RSI’ on themselves it might be for the better in the long run. If only cancer worked that way…
Also, if you’re in for a laugh, read this; http://www.howibeatrsi.com/
Aspergers’ Syndrome
I was going to write something short about this, but the source I found is just too much and demands it’s own article soon.
Anything to do with your chakra, chi or anything curable by homeopathy
As a scientist I can safely say; if you buy into any of that crap, you may just be an idiot.
That’s it for today, feel free to find some other fake diseases (or make them up yourselves and earn billions). For the rest of you, I hope I opened some sleepy idiots’ eyes and made him a critic.

I agree with you about this ADHD epidemic. The little guy across the street from me was sent home with a note from his grade 1 teacher saying that she couldn’t control him and that he had ADHD. I wonder when it was that she got her psychological disorders medical degree.
Of course I do believe that there is such a thing as ADHD and that some children have it and need help, but this little boy is smart as a whip he is great on the computer, has a terrific sense of humour and can beat anybody at table badminton. And that’s just what I know.
In my opinion this teacher is just lazy and she can’t keep up with him. Also, like you said, “why aren’t there any old people with ADHD alive today?” were they all drugged to death as children?
Like always love your stuff (LD)
