A while ago I spoke of the beginning of the final incarnation of the World War Trilogy; World War III (three), the knowledge of this event given to me in a moment of temporary nirvana.
We left my previous lecture with two major powers; the Paneuropean Powers (PP), consisting of Paneurope (France, Germany and the majority of West and Northern Europe), Turkey (having conquered most of South-East Europe) and the Arab League (including, but not limited to Iraq, Egypt, Saudi-Arabia, Lebanon, Marocco and Palestine). On the other hand we have the United Allied Forces (UK, Russia, US, Canada, Australia, Italy). To reiterate; France, Russia, the US, UK and Iran all have nuclear capabilities. Refresh your memory by reading it again if you have to.
Due to all the commotion in Europe, two important events transpire in Asia as both China and North Korea find that the rest of the world is distracted. First, China invades Taiwan. The attack is smooth and effective, within a week the Taiwanese army falls and within another it is under strict Chinese control. Resistance cells exist of course, but they are virtually ineffective. In the mean time, North Korea defeats its Southern brother with a well-trained army and the threat of nuclear attack (a bluff, but that was unknown at the time).
Further to the South and over the course of many years from now, India has already become a major power both economically and military and became a strong ally of the UK and the US. The reason they did not interfere in the European conflict however, was that they were requested to ‘keep an eye out’ (literal quote from the British Prime Minister). This turned out to be a fine move as India was now the only one able to oppose China. So they did. Further to the North and to the East Japan found the fall of their trading partner South-Korea even less amusing. China and North Korea did the only logical thing here; they bonded together to fight on two fronts. India and Japan proceed to do the same.
That will be all for today; the European theatre and the further evolution of the war.
To summarise, the Asian theatre consists of;
India & Japan vs (North) Korea and China
Stay tuned.
